Faded Ink Pages by Shiann Everett

Faded away,
like the ink of an old book
she disappears.
The waves take her whole,
washing the sins of her past.

Fallen to her knees,
Cries weep for another chance
deepening the hole.
She worries to be erased,
from the eyes of the ones she once loved.

Forgotten like a memory,
her soul yearns for a feeling
her mind lost.

The walls around her close in,
as her last breath lingers in the air.

Focus: My writing started off as an outlet. It was a great coping mechanism, and a lot easier than talking to someone. As my writing progressed, and I shared my work, it quickly turned from a fun hobby to something I want to carry with me for the rest of my life. Not only do I want to continue my writing, and hopefully publish it one day, I also want to extend all my knowledge to children. Have my own classroom full of future writers, just like me right now.
Other work: I am working on creating my poetry book. I started it about a year ago. I’m not sure how long it will be or if I’m anywhere near being done. I don’t even have a title for it yet, but it’s a work in progress for sure.

Day job: Starbucks, Bean Sprouts
Hobbies include writing (poems, music, short fiction) and photography.
Instagram: @sjevere where she shares her poetry.
