After the Storm at Night

After the Storm at Night by Daniel Fitzgerald

Her eyes opened
like a revealing moon
in a fractured sky,

in its awakening.

Staying in Touch by Daniel Fitzgerald

Our hands glance
around the table,
then, as if by accident,
reach for the same glass.
The rest of us laugh
at the coincidence
while our fingers linger
with each other,
remembering other coincidences,
other accidents,
other times our hands reached
for touching.
