Mirror by Ann Lorraine Gabi

We all are born
To live as one
Our souls are torn
Where have we gone?

And so we live
As we are told
Of what to give
Our bodies sold

Now is the time
Look for your other
Your inner rhyme
That burning desire

All an illusion
You are a whole
Not a confusion
Both with one goal

To be together
Your greatest versions
So here we gather
No separations

You and I
Are always one
Never apart
Outsiders none

Your darkest, dark
My brightest light
Free as a lark
An awe in sight

My greatest fears
Your only bliss
So very dear
Only to miss

For I am you
And you are me
To be so true
Love yourself fully

When you chose you
I am also chosen
A love not new
Bonds can’t be broken

Only then
Will two wholes be one
No matter when
I won’t be gone

I’m originally from the Philippines, traveled  to Canada as an immigrant when I was 9 years old.

I like to watch all types of shows from true crime to Korean dramas in Netflix. I listen to many audio books during my free time and on the go if I’m doing other things at the same time. I have decided to pursue another career as an MLA despite my occupational health and safety education.

I write poetry and use it as my creative outlet. It’s never planned, I always write when I feel inspired either by a really happy or a really sad emotion. I plan to publish my own poetry book someday 🙂 I post a lot of my poetry on Instagram. People can follow me on Instagram: @ch4vala
